Q: Hey Diana, you've got O'Connells on your mom's side! Do you just love St Patrick's Day?
A: Not really. I don't need an excuse to drink beer and I hate parades. However, I do enjoy the opportunities to be pedantic and irritating that the holiday offers. For instance, what's with the endemic misspelling of the diminutive of "Patrick"? My aunt Patty is pretty confused to see her name on every marquee and flyer. Also, I take some pleasure in wearing orange on March 17. Basically if you ask me about my St Patrick's Day plans prepare to get an earful of annoying jerkface.
